All these Feels

My heart feels the same way that it did when I left for Italy, except on a much lesser scale. I feel excited, yet annoyed. I want to end it already. I want to be at Linfield.

Also, I’ve started thinking that graduation is really just a concept- an idea. Think about it, and emotionally, what changes from May 29th to June 1st? Nothing. All the power and potential that you feel after graduation, you had all that energy in you all four years of high school and you’ve chosen NOW to finally use it. Every other sentence we say ends in, “YOLO!” but should it? What makes this time of year different from our first few months? Why is it okay for everyone to be reckless now, but a few months ago, they were considered idiots without a future? When the moment comes to cross the stage, I will keep in mind all the others who don’t think anything of this ceremony. Because the ceremony is meaningless if you have emotionally already checked out and said your goodbyes. If you’ve already made peace with all that the school has given you and all that you have done, I think that the graduation is just a concept.

My weekend.
